It is black and that is the only color that will ever be made for the Vanagon so if you need brown you are looking at either painting this one or good used (I don't have any used ones). Also if you have factory cruise control, those controls aren't on this switch. This will work on a Vanagon with factory cruise but it lacks the switches to control that. As far as I know there is no source for that switch except used so check ebay and prepare to spend a lot of money. :-( This switch also incorporates the brass finger that is part of the horn circuit so if you are having problems with your horn, check the finger on this part. If it is worn out and sharp, it should be replaced. Finally, while this switch is what you move to switch between high and low beam on your headlights, this switch actually doesn't include the high\/low beam switch. That switch is part of the wiper\/washer switch assembly.
