Rear brake drum for all Vanagon
If your brakes feel mushy, most of the time the problem is actually in the rear of the braking system. Or sometimes you will feel a pulsing in the pedal, it is almost always due to messed up drums, improperly installed rear brake springs, bad rear wheel cylinders, or worn out shoes. I am at the point now when I am having a braking problem with the Vanagon I always check the rear brakes first as they are the usually culprit. Be sure to look at a picture of the rear brake assembly in your Bentley manual or on this site and don't assume that your brake adjuster and springs were installed properly. Most of the time, they are not! Price is per drum. OE Quality Drum. Always replace in pairs. All Vanagon.
