Engine Main Bearing Set .50mm Oversized Thrust Bearing with a Standard Case and Standard on the Crank Dimensions. for 72-79 Bus and Air Cooled Vanagon.  These will also work with a type 4 engine so certain Porsche engines as well.

So while the case bearings are standard size and the crank journals are standard size you will need to get the case machined for the thicker Thrust bearing.
